IMR Outcomes: January 2014 Through June 2017

Announced : September 14, 2017

Update on IMR Outcomes: CWCI’s analysis of the California workers’ comp medical dispute process finds that the number of IMR decision letters held steady in the first half of 2017 while the number of treatment decisions in those letters continued at an annualized rate of about 312,000. The study also shows that in 91.3 percent of the IMR cases, the independent medical reviewer concurred with the UR physician’s determination that the requested treatment was not medically necessary.   The Spotlight Report  on the study is available to members and subscribers in the Research section or may be purchased from the Store.

More details are in the Newsroom, and CWCI members and subscribers may log in to view the full Report, which is posted in the Research section.
