The Institute's President, Alex Swedlow, has been invited to present a session at the upcoming California Actuarial Society (CAS) Roadshow, to be held December 2 at the LINQ in Las Vegas.

The 2022 CAS Roadshow gives property-casualty insurance actuaries and consultants the opportunity to earn continuing education credits in a variety of sessions covering relevant and timely topics necessary for continued professional growth and maintaining actuarial credentials.

Alex will be presenting at Session 2 -- The Impact of Declining Opioid Trends in California Workers’ Compensation

This presentation will discuss the declining trend in opioid utilization in the California workers’ compensation system. The session will highlight 15+ years of dramatic changes in the trend of opioid use, the rise of alternative pain management therapeutics, and their impact across the California workers’ compensation system.
