CWCI Presents Event

Case Law Seminar XXII

Event Date: July 7, 2020

Summary: Sign up now for our Case Law Seminar!

For over two decades, the California Workers’ Compensation Institute has presented the most authoritative case law seminar in the industry.  Rather than an hour-long topical overview of a few cases, our full-day program covers dozens of cases in depth, reviewing the factual background of each case as well as the decision itself.  We will examine how recent trends in decisional law are reshaping California workers’ compensation, and provide appropriate negotiation and defense strategies for claims personnel, attorneys, hearing reps, and others with negotiating authority.

The Institute’s annual case law seminar is the longest-running program of its type in the industry.  Our faculty includes two widely-respected defense attorneys (Saul Allweiss of the Offices of Allweiss & McMurtry and Richard Jacobsmeyer of Shaw, Jacobsmeyer, Crain, & Claffey), and the opposing perspective from an applicant’s attorney (Elizabeth Hudson of Law Offices of Scot Shoemaker).  The event is moderated by the Institute’s General Counsel, Ellen Sims Langille, an expert in workers’ compensation appellate law and procedures.

You can register for the July 7, 2020 online Seminar here.

CWCI is pleased to offer continuing education credits in multiple professions. CWCI has obtained certification to offer 5.25 hours of MCLE, including 5.25 Legal Specialization credits for workers' compensation, from the State Bar of California for this program.  Also, the Institute will provide certificates of attendance upon completion of the program for submission to the Association of Hearing Representatives of California and for the verification of hours for those in need of credit for the California Department of Insurance workers’ compensation claims adjuster certification requirements.
