CWCI Member Webinar: Medical Review & Dispute Resolution Research
This week the Institute released its study on medical review and dispute resolution in California workers’ compensation. This new report expands on earlier analyses of UR and IMR using data from a sample of 5.6 million California workers’ compensation medical services from 2014 and from the 220,000 IMR determination letters issued between January 2014 and June 2015, with much of the updated IMR outcomes data derived from the 82,000 IMR decisions issued in the first half of this year. To provide additional insight and a broader understanding of the issues surrounding medical review and dispute resolution and the results of the research, CWCI has scheduled a free 1 hour webinar exclusively for representatives of our member companies. The program, scheduled for Wednesday, December 16 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. (Pacific), will be presented by the study’s co-authors, CWCI President Alex Swedlow, Senior VP of Research & Operations Rena David, Claims and Medical Director Brenda Ramirez, and Senior Research Associate Stacy Jones. The webinar will provide background information on the research and a review and discussion of the exhibits and findings from the study, and allow CWCI members, many of whom provided data for the study, to raise questions and provide feedback to the Institute.

A review and discussion of CWCI’s recent analysis of California workers’ compensation medical review and dispute resolution.
