July Deadline for Adjuster/Bill Reviewer Certifications

March 18, 2008

Workers’ compensation claims operations have until July to certify that claims adjusters and medical bill reviewers working on their behalf meet Department of Insurance training/experience requirements. However, CDI says only insurers admitted to transact workers’ compensation business in the state must submit a Workers’ Compensation Adjuster Certification Acknowledgment of Receipt Form and Data Workbook, while self-insured employers and TPAs should use the certification format outlined in CCR §2592. For more info see the FAQs at www.insurance.ca.gov/0200-industry/0100-education-provider/wc-adjuster-training-faw.cfm; and CWCI members and subscribers can view CWCI Bulletin 08-07 by clicking here.
