CWCI 2024 Case Law Update Program Now Available as an On-Demand Webinar

May 30, 2024

On May 9, CWCI presented its 26rh Annual California Workers’ Compensation Case Law Seminar as a live and on-line event.  The Institute recorded the 5-hour program and is now pleased to offer it as an on-demand webinar to its members and other stakeholders in the workers’ compensation community.

The seminar, presented by veteran defense attorneys Richard Jacobsmeyer, James W. Jones, and Randy Pollak, along with applicants’ attorney Lisa Ivancich, was moderated by CWCI’s SVP Claims and General Counsel Sara Widener-Brightwell.  The program provides real-world, practical insight from both sides of the courtroom in an entertaining and enlightening way.  In addition to offering updates on recent rulings, the speakers identify issues related to recent statutory and regulatory changes, examine old case law to see what still applies and what does not, and offer workers’ compensation claims and legal professionals a fresh look at the impact of case law.

The webinar features a full audio-visual presentation that highlights important case details and provides factual backgrounds and other key elements for every case on the agenda.  All registrants will be provided with access to an electronic version of the course materials (including hyperlinks to the actual decisions) which they can download to a laptop or print out prior to viewing the webinar.  Attendees also may pre-order a bound copy of the course materials at a nominal cost.

The on-demand feature allows registrants to view the 5-hour program either in part or in total at their convenience. The cost of the webinar, including the link to the course materials, is $399 with a $100 discount available to CWCI member company employees.  CWCI has received certification to offer 5.0 hours of MCLE credits (including 5.0 hours of specialization credits in Workers’ Compensation) from the State Bar of California for this program.  In addition, upon completion of the program CWCI will provide registered attendees with certificates of attendance for submission to the Association of Hearing Representatives of California and for verification of hours to apply toward the California Department of Insurance workers’ compensation claims adjuster certification requirements.  Attendee participation will be tracked electronically for compliance.
