CWCIs 2015 CASE LAW SEMINARS: PRE-REGISTRATION NOTICE
The Institute has finalized plans for the 2015 California workers’ compensation case law seminars – the latest installment in CWCI’s successful seminar series initiated 16 years ago. The program will offer workers’ compensation claims and legal professionals information and insights on case law so they can work together to develop effective defense and negotiation strategies. The sessions will be presented by attorneys Saul Allweiss and Michael Marks (Law Offices of Saul Allweiss, Tarzana) and Richard Jacobsmeyer (Shaw, Jacobsmeyer, Crain & Claffey, Oakland), and will be moderated by CWCI General Counsel Michael McClain.
The 2015 program is slated for Monday, May 18 at the Grand Long Beach Event Center, and will be repeated Wednesday May 20 at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. As in the Institute’s prior case law seminars, the program will use a debate-style format to review trends in decisional law and to present both the applicant and defense perspectives on various topics. Presentations will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch from noon to 1 p.m. The seminar will end with a Q&A that will conclude by 3:30 p.m.
CWCI will be submitting an application to the State Bar of California to obtain MCLE credits for this program, and the Institute also will provide certificates of attendance for those seeking credit towards the Department of Insurance workers’ comp claim administrator certification requirements and for submission to the Association of Hearing Representatives of California.
Seminar tuition, which includes all materials, beverage service and the luncheon, is $375, with a $100 discount available to CWCI member company employees (see the back of the enclosed flyer, which has more details and a registration form). CWCI members should register early as space is limited and registrations will be accepted in the order received.
The fastest and easiest way to register is to enroll online. Simply click the “Seminar” button at www.cwci.org to sign up using the online registration system. Alternatively, you may complete and return the registration form on the back of the enclosed flyer along with your payment. CWCI will guarantee space for all registrations received by May 14, but accepts no liability or responsibility if an individual or accounting department fails to meet the deadline. Registrations received after that date and walk-ins may only be accepted on a space available basis, so register early.
