CWCI Releases Volume10 of Case Law Defense/Negotiation Training Manual

June 5, 2008

The California Workers’ Compensation Institute has released Volume 10 of its Case Law Defense/Negotiation Training Manual listing key rulings (including case citations and notes) affecting medical care and utilization review; apportionment; permanent disability rating; and reviewing recent updates to decisional law in a "What’s New" section. The manual also includes an appendix with significant decision summaries prepared by the Institute’s general counsel as well as copies of opinions from 16 major cases.

The Institute’s manual served as the syllabus for the latest installment of its case law seminar series, conducted in May. It provides a valuable reference and training tool for attorneys, claims staff, hearing reps, and others who need to know how recent trends in decisional law impact workers’ comp defense and negotiation strategies. The information is designed to help these professionals sharpen their strategic thinking and negotiation skills so they can work together more effectively in defending claims.

Volume 10 of the CWCI Case Law Defense/Negotiation Training Manual is a valuable reference for those responsible for administering and defending claims, and for companies wishing to provide in-house training. Manuals are $35 each for CWCI members, $40 for nonmembers. For fastest processing, order online from the Store at www.cwci.org or call 510-251-9470 and request an order form which can be returned by fax or mail.
