CWCI Publishes Employers' Guide to California Workers' Compensation

March 24, 2008

Oakland – The California Workers’ Compensation Institute has announced the publication of a new "Employers’ Guide to California Workers’ Compensation." The 20-page booklet gives employers simple, easy-to-understand information of workers’ comp coverage and benefits, and reviews key issues they need to know in dealing with work injury claims or shopping for coverage.

The guide explains how premiums and rates are established under open rating — including information on advisory rates, ex mods, and reserves. It also covers employer reporting requirements, identifies key cost drivers, and offers practical tips to help employers control costs.

CWCI’s Employers’ Guide has been copyrighted and printed, and is ready for insurers, agents, brokers and others to distribute to employers in time for January policy renewals. Single copies of the guide are $3.50 each, sets of ten are $18, plus tax and shipping. To order, online click here All orders must be prepaid. For shipments outside California, delivery other than regular UPS, CWCI member discounts, orders over $1,000, or special imprint prices, call 510-251-9470 for quotes.
