Instructional Webinar on CWCI Interactive Tools Now Available As Online Videos
On Tuesday of this week, CWCI Senior Vice President of Research Rena David conducted a webinar to help guide Institute members on how to use the Institute’s Interactive Research applications, which feature regularly updated data from the IRIS database on four topics: California Workers’ Compensation Claims Monitoring; Prescription Drugs and Opioids; Regional Variations in Claims Experience; and Inpatient Hospitalization Claims.
CWCI’s Interactive Applications were designed to provide our members with online access to data that can be used to examine and compare industrywide data on key metrics. Each application contains dashboards with various exhibits that change as different filters are selected, allowing users to build customized views. As new IRIS data becomes available, the Institute will automatically update the applications to provide you with the most current data available. The next updates, which should be available before the end of this year, will include data through June 2018 (IRIS 20A).
The 40-minute webinar served as a tutorial on how to use these applications and the types of data available. The program was recorded, and has now been edited into four separate videos, each of which runs about 10 minutes. The videos may be viewed online or downloaded to your computer and viewed at your convenience.
CWCI members will find the videos on our website. These are member-only files, so you or your staff will need to log in to access the videos and the interactive Research Applications. If you have not set up a member account, select “Your Account” at the top of the home page, click “Add me as a Member User” from the pull-down menu, complete the form, then use the information to log in. Once logged in, simply click Interactive Research Tools from the dropdown menu under the Research tab on the top of our home page and you will be taken to the Interactive Research Application page.
