DWC Corrects Online Pharmacy Fee Calculator

The Division of Workers’ Compensation issued the attached Newsline last week to announce that it has corrected three errors in the pharmaceutical price calculator posted on the DWC website. According to the Newsline, the calculator failed to:

• Give correct prices for brand name drugs under prescriptions where the physician wrote that no substitution was permitted;
• Implement the 7/1/04 change in final discount in Medi-Cal prices; and
• Include all steps necessary to calculate Medi-Cal pricing for compounded prescriptions.

  The Division consulted with Medi-Cal to make the necessary revisions, and the online calculator is now generating correct Medi-Cal pricing. The calculator may be accessed online at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/pharmfeesched/pfs.asp. Please see the attached DWC Newsline for additional information.
