DIR To Hold Advisory Forum Next Week on 2011 Workers' Comp Assessments
The California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) has announced that its leadership will meet with workers’ compensation stakeholders next Wednesday (June 30) to discuss details of DIR’s plans for the year ahead and the upcoming 2011 workers’ compensation assessments. CWCI will send a representative to the forum, but it is also open to other interested parties. The forum will be held:
June 30, 2010, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Department of Health Care Services
1500 Capitol Avenue, Room 72.149 (Training Room B)
Sacramento, California
DIR participants will include Director John C. Duncan, Labor Commissioner Angela Bradstreet, Cal/OSHA Chief Len Welsh, Division of Workers’ Compensation Acting Administrative Director Carrie Nevans, Self-Insurance Plans Manager Jim Ware, and the Department’s Chief Financial Officer Greg Edwards.
According to DIR, its staff will share early estimated assessment amounts for 2011 and discuss assessment methodology, and DIR Director Duncan and each Division Chief will review Department and Division priorities, which the department says will provide an important opportunity for DIR’s senior management to hear from key stakeholders.
The meeting agenda is DIR’s website: http://www.dir.ca.gov/Assessment_Agenda.pdf .
