CWCI to Broadcast Guest Speaker Presentations

Date: 03/18/2020

Although we are disappointed that the CWCI 56th Annual Meeting had to be cancelled due to the growing public health concerns about COVID-19, we are pleased to announce that CWCI will broadcast the two guest speaker presentations that were developed for this year’s program. A free 1.5 hour webcast of these presentations will be broadcast Tuesday, March 24th at 10 a.m.  The webcast will then be available on-demand for 30 days.

The first presentation features Dr. Mark Schniepp, Director of the California Economic Forecast, who shares his thoughts on the current economic outlook for California and the U.S., including his data and observations on the impact of COVID-19 on the California and national economies.  Dr. Schniepp holds a Doctorate in Economics from UC Santa Barbara and served as senior economist to State Controller Kathleen Connell from 1999 to 2003.  His firm maintains the largest economic and demographic database on California counties and sub-regions.

The second presentation is by Dr. Richard Riemer, Senior Associate Dean at the Touro University of Osteopathic Medicine, and Medical Director for the Schools Insurance Authority for the past 15 years.  Dr. Riemer discusses ongoing issues in access to care, developing the next generation of occupational medicine providers, and how COVID-19 is exacerbating the stress points in our local and national healthcare system.

We hope you can join us for the webcast of these interesting and timely presentations.  If you registered to attend our Annual Meeting either in-person or via the virtual broadcast, you have been automatically re-registered for this webcast.  CWCI members who were not registered for our Annual Meeting are also welcome to view the webcast, so feel free to forward this information to others on your staff who would be interested in the program and they may sign up by clicking here.

Log-in instructions will be emailed to all registrants early next week.  If you have questions, please call CWCI at 510-251-9470.
