CWCI Needs Your Help: Member Survey on Progress Report Experience
Implementation of the new California Official Medical Fee Schedule, which is based on Medicare RBRVS values, has resulted in the removal of consultation codes and a renewed emphasis on reporting by the primary treating physician (PTP). CCR §9785 (e)(4) states that the PTP shall incorporate the information from secondary physicians into the PTP’s report for submission to the claims administrator.
Historically, the progress report code has been the most frequently billed code. The Institute is undertaking a study to examine how progress reports are being used, and any issues, problems or changes that may have arisen since the conversion to an RBRVS schedule. We are looking to our member companies to assist by providing information and insight on their own experience.
Please take a few moments to complete the linked survey so that we may incorporate this valuable information into our study. If you wish, you may forward this email to appropriate staff for completion, but we ask that all survey responses be submitted by Monday, June 2nd. Thank you in advance for your participation.
