2018 Case Law Seminars: Registration Notice

Date: 02/27/2018

CWCI has scheduled its 20th annual California Workers’ Compensation case law seminar in May in San Francisco and Long Beach.  The full-day program will review recent court decisions, and provide insight into appropriate negotiation and defense strategies for claims personnel, attorneys, hearing reps, and other industry professionals.  The 2018 sessions will provide an update on recent rulings, identify issues related to recent statutory and regulatory changes, examine old case law to see what still applies and what does not, and offer workers’ comp claims professionals an in-depth examination of the impact of new case law.

The Institute’s annual case law seminar is the longest running program of its type in the industry.  Many attendees return year after year, in order to keep up-to-date on judicial precedent that affects how they do their jobs every day.

Seminar Features:

  • The seminar will include a full audio-visual presentation, allowing you to learn important case details, factual backgrounds, and other highlights for every case on the agenda.  The program materials will also include links to actual decisions.
  • Registrants will be provided access to the complete electronic version of the course materials one week prior to the seminar, so you can download them to your laptop or print them out if you want to bring a hard copy to the session.  Please remember to include your email address when you register, so that you can receive the link to the course materials as soon as it is available.
  • You have the option to request a pre-printed copy of the course materials at a nominal cost.
  • CWCI is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and the Institute has obtained certification to offer 5.0 hours of MCLE with Legal Specialization, as well as continuing education units for hearing reps and claims administrators.

The program is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the following locations:

Monday, May 14                      Hotel Nikko, San Francisco

Wednesday, May 16                The Grand Long Beach Event Center

The cost, including the seminar materials, morning coffee service, lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break is $399, with a $100 discount available to employees of CWCI member companies.  The attached flyer includes further details and a registration form, or you can register online or download seminar flyers.  If you have questions about the program, please call Fran Perry at 510-251-9470.  Thank you.
