2017 Case Law Seminars: Registration Notice

Date: 03/16/2017

CWCI has scheduled its 19th annual California Workers’ Compensation case law seminar in May in San Francisco and Long Beach. The full-day program will review recent court rulings and provide insight into appropriate negotiation and defense strategies for claims personnel, attorneys, hearing reps, and other industry professionals. The 2017 sessions will review rulings and identify issues related to recent statutory and regulatory changes, examine old case law to see what still applies and what does not, and offer workers’ comp claims and legal professionals a fresh look at the impact of case law.

New features to note:

  • This year’s seminar will include a full audio-visual presentation, allowing you to learn important case details, factual backgrounds, and other highlights for every case on the agenda.
  • Rather than holding a Q&A session at the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to ask questions as the topics are being addressed in the presentations.
  • Registrants will be provided access to the complete electronic version of the course materials one week prior to the seminar, so you can download them to your laptop or print them out if you want to bring a hard copy to the session. Please remember to include your email address when you register, so that you can receive the link to the course materials as soon as it is available.
  • CWCI is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and this year the Institute has obtained certification to offer 5.0 hours of MCLE with Legal Specialization and continuing education units for hearing reps and claims administrators,.

The program is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the following locations:

Monday, May 15                      Hotel Nikko, San Francisco

Wednesday, May 17                Grand Long Beach Event Center

The cost, including the seminar materials, morning coffee service, lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break is $395, with a $100 discount available to employees of CWCI member companies. The attached flyer includes further details and a registration form, or you can register online or download additional flyers from the Seminar section at www.cwci.org. If you have questions about the program, please call Mel Long at 510-251-9470.
