2016 CASE LAW SEMINARS: REGISTRATION NOTICE
CWCI will hold a one-day case law seminar in May in Long Beach and San Francisco to review recent court rulings and to discuss appropriate negotiation and defense strategies for claims personnel, attorneys, hearing reps, and other industry professionals. This program is the latest in CWCI’s case law series that began in 1999. The 2016 sessions will review rulings and identify issues related to recent statutory and regulatory changes, examine old case law to see what still applies and what does not, and offer workers’ comp claims and legal professionals a fresh look at the impact of case law.
The morning session of the program will feature an update on case law related to medical care, utilization review and independent medical review, permanent disability and apportionment, while the afternoon session will be a panel discussion on recent rulings, followed by a Q&A session that will conclude the program.
The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations:
Monday, May 23 The Grand Long Beach Event Center
Wednesday, May 25 Parc 55 San Francisco
The program is designed for claims administrators, attorneys, hearing representatives, and others with negotiating authority. CWCI will be submitting an application to the State Bar of California to obtain MCLE credits (5 hours) for this program. The Institute also will provide certificates of attendance upon completion of the program for submission to the Association of Hearing Representatives of California and for the verification of hours for those in need of credit for the new California Department of Insurance workers’ compensation claims adjuster certification requirements.
The cost, including seminar materials, morning coffee service, lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break is $375, with a $100 discount available to employees of CWCI member company (see the back of the registration form).
