2013 Case Law Training Manuals Now Available

Several people who attended last month’s2013 California Workers’ Compensation Case Law Update seminar requested additional copies of the course syllabus for reference and in-house training. Now that the program has concluded, the Institute has a limited supply of the course manuals available for purchase. 

This was the 15th consecutive year that the Institute presented the case law seminar, and the course materials from this year’s program were broken into five sections: What’s New; Utilization Review, Independent Medical Review and Treatment; Permanent Disability; Psychiatric Injuries; and Lien Litigation. The materials include highlights and updates on significant case law – including case citations – as well as appendices with significant decision summaries prepared by CWCI’s general counsel and links to key opinions. In addition to the 2013 case law seminar syllabus, limited supplies of the training materials from the Institute’s 2011 and 2012 case law seminars (Volume XIII and Volume XIV) are also available. The 2011 volume features sections on Ogilvie; Guzman; Settlements; Medical Care and Utilization Review; and Liens; while the 2012 volume has sections on Ogilvie and Guzman, Medicare Set Asides, Medical Care and Utilization Review.
