The total number of nonfatal work injury and illnesses reported in California edged up slightly in 2007, and the state accounted for nearly one out of every eight cases reported by private sector employers nationwide according to data from the state Division of Labor Statistics and Research (DLS&R) and the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.
