After hitting a record high in January 2022, California workers comp COVID-19 claim volume fell by nearly 98% by the end of March, but the May 16 update to CWCIs COVID-19/non-COVID-19 App shows that with the recent spread of infections involving Omicron variants and subvariants the number of COVID claims reported to the DWC is again on the rise.
