1st report data on PY 2006 Calif. WC insured claims show that despite a 4.5% drop in the number of claims, total incurred loss costs rose by $112 million — the first increase in 4 years — led by an $87 million jump in incurred medical costs, half of which was due to higher medical costs on minor PD claims.
