A CWCI study shows more than 97% of California's temporarily disabled workers received at least 2/3 of their average weekly wage in TD payments in the 1st quarter of AY 2005 vs. 80% prior to AB 749 benefit increases. With TD rates now tied to increases in the state average weekly wage, that proportion should remain high as most claimants earn less than the SAWW.
