A CWCI analysis of OSIP public S-I claims data for FY 2020/21 finds that an increase in the number of lost-time claims during the pandemic, along with a sharp increase in average paid and incurred indemnity, pushed public self-insured employers first report paid losses up by $30 million to $445 million last year, while total incurred losses jumped by $77.3 million to an all-time high of more than $1.4 billion.
