Gov. Newsom Appoints Nicole Richardson DWC Administrative Director

Late yesterday Gov. Newsom announced the appointment of Nicole Richardson as Administrative Director of the Division of Workers’ Compensation.

In January the governor appointed Richardson Chief Counsel of the Division, where she had served as staff counsel since 2017.  Since the retirement of former AD George Parisotto at the end of January, Richardson has also served as Acting AD. 

Richardson is an industry veteran. Prior to joining the DWC she worked as an Attorney at SiliconBay Training from 2013 to 2017, staff counsel at Pacific Compensation Insurance Co. from 2011 to 2013 and staff counsel at State Compensation Insurance Fund from 2004 to 2011. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of California, Berkeley.

Her appointment as AD requires Senate confirmation, which is pending.
