$23.00
What is really driving California workers’ compensation medical inflation? Using 8 years of medical transaction data from CWCI’s IRIS database, this report looks beyond fee schedule updates to identify the roles that price, utilization, regulatory changes, and billing practices have played in shaping medical costs across professional services, hospitals, pharmacy, DMEPOS, Med-Legal Services, and medical interpreter services. The findings show that rapid growth of unlisted procedure codes is driving up medical spending in the system and creating new cost pressures. The report provides insights for claims administrators, employers, regulators, policymakers, attorneys and workers’ comp medical management professionals. Report to the Industry, 6/26. $23
