CWCI's Annual Meeting & Claims/Medical Care Meeting and COVID-19

Concerns over COVID-19 have reached a critical level of concern for CWCI members as well as our staff.  Over the last few days we have received numerous communiques from our member companies  about travel and meeting restrictions for employees.  These emerging company policies and growing  public health concerns have impacted CWCI’s ability to conduct our March 16th Claims and Medical Care Committees’ Meeting and our March 17th Annual Meeting of Members.

CWCI is sensitive to public health and member policy decisions and will place the safety and well-being of our members at the front and center of all activities.  Although Alameda County has not called for cancellation of public events, several nearby counties have made that recommendation.  We regret to announce that we have made the difficult decision to convert both the Claims and Medical Care Committees’ Meeting and the upcoming Annual Meeting to VIRTUAL rather than in-person meetings. 

The dates and times of both meetings remain essentially the same;

  • Claims & Medical Care Committees’ Meeting: Monday, March 16th, 9:30 a.m. to noon (Pacific)
  • Annual Meeting: Tuesday, March 17th, 9:00 a.m. to noon (Pacific)

(Note:  Our Organizational Board Meeting, also virtual, will begin shortly after the conclusion of the online Annual Meeting.)

We regret the timing of this decision but wanted to give you advance notice to adjust your travel plans.  If you or your staff members did not register for the in-person Annual Meeting but would like to attend the virtual meeting, you may still do so by registering at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7QVVBNG.

We will be sending out a details and login information for both the Claims and Medical Care Committees’ Meeting and the Annual Meeting later this week.

Note that all Marriott reservations for hotel rooms made by CWCI have been cancelled, but we cannot cancel any reservations made privately.  If you need any assistance, please contact Perla at 510-251-9470.  Thank you for your understanding during this unsettled time.
