CWCI Website Privacy Policy

Introduction

Your privacy is very important to us. The California Workers' Compensation Institute (CWCI) respects your concerns about maintaining strict privacy. Any information that you disclose to us is kept in confidence.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our members, visitors, and other public users of the website. While we do not generally collect personally identifiable information on our site, we do collect certain information for system management and security purposes. The following information is provided to you to explain what information we track, how we use it, and any other restrictions that might apply.

User Identification

We capture only personally identifiable information supplied by the member/subscriber when registering for our website. Access to our website does not require registration. A CWCI member/subscriber must register and have a password to visit the "Member Only" section of the website. For member/subscriber registration and for those who voluntarily provide it, we record some personally identifiable information, including name, email address, mailing address, city, state, ZIP code, and phone number. If you provide personally identifiable information to us, we keep this information confidential. We will only release your personally identifiable information, if you have given explicit consent to do so, or if required by law.

We also collect and retain the information for users who order from the website to facilitate shipping and material tracking, and we retain this information for subsequent orders. Additionally, we collect and retain information on seminar registrations which enables us to advise attendees of upcoming seminars. We do not collect credit card numbers or any other information that is considered "protected" by law. All credit card transactions are processed in a secure manner through a separate, independent system, Authorize.net. The order is then "approved" with a transaction code but no credit card data. We do not release or transfer any personal information and we do not sell or distribute lists of members, subscribers, or others using our site.

Website Administration

Our Internet service provider collects data traffic statistics about the date and time our site is accessed and, if you linked to our site from another web site, it records the external Internet address. This information is collected to facilitate the administration of the website, to measure the number of visitors accessing our site, and to identify members, subscribers and users ordering from our site. We use additional third party software to monitor traffic in order to maintain website security and viability.

We do not create mailing lists or sell, share, or otherwise disclose user data to others.

Links

The CWCI Website may contain links to other websites, which are not covered by the CWCI Privacy Policy. We do not endorse the content on any third party websites. We are not responsible for the content of linked third party websites or any third party advertisements, and do not make any representations regarding their content or accuracy.

Cookies

The CWCI website uses a very limited set of cookies (small text files that are placed on your hard drive by the web page server) in order to identify return users and to expedite product reordering.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change the CWCI Privacy Policy at any time and any changes will be effective immediately. You are encouraged to review our Privacy Policy from time to time to make sure that you understand how the information you provide will be used.
